All funds and plans purchased for use on campus are for the personal use of the owner of the account or plan only and are non-transferable. The meal plan funds cannot be used as a gift card or gift certificate. Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, all meal plan funds and plans are refundable however a minor Administration Fee of $50 will be charged at the time of refund. Meal plan funds do not expire and carry over from semester to semester; however the tax-exempt status may be affected.
Meal Plans are refundable and are only given back to the original purchaser of the plan. A $50 Administration Fee will be charged before a refund is issued. The Meal Plan Refund Request Form must be completed and signed before a refund can be granted.
Meal Plan Memberships which are not tax exempt:
1. Memberships which are not tax exempt are refundable at anytime throughout the year. Refunds are ONLY given to the original purchaser of the Meal Plan. Bonus dollars on these plans are non-refundable and can not be applied to any refund/administration charge. A $25 refund administration fee will also be charged before a refund will be issued. The Meal Plan Refund Request form must be completed and signed before a refund can be granted.
2. Membership dollars carryover to the next year, so any unused Meal Plan dollars can be used in the next academic year.
Meal Plan Memberships which are tax exempt:
1. Memberships which are tax exempt are refundable with limitations. They follow the same rules and process as non-tax exempt plans but also:
a) Before any refund can be issued you must pay taxes on all the dollars spent which you have received tax free status, you will be taxed 13% on this amount.
b) Meal Plan Memberships purchased with the installment payment program will not receive a refund on the administration fee charged in the first payment.
2. Membership dollars carryover to the next year, so any unused Meal Plan dollars can be used in the next academic year, however they monies spent will be taxable.
3. Tax exempt memberships do have a time limit i.e. 1 or 2 months, 1 semester or 1 academic year. Depending on the plan purchased the time granted for tax exempt status is set and once you pass the tax exempt period your plan is no longer tax exempt and thus becomes taxable. You will not lose your remaining funds but anything purchased after the tax exempt period will be taxed and the total for each additional purchase (tax included) will be subtracted from your remaining balance on your Meal Plan Membership until your dollars are depleted.
Refund Policy:
All website purchases are considered to be final. Exceptions will be made for processing errors. All refunds for processing errors will be refunded to the credit card used for the purchase.
